Mohali Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain today said mandis in the district witnessed the arrival of 37,332 MT of paddy by this evening, of which 34,702 MT was purchased by agencies.

All 18 procurement centres have recorded the arrival of paddy in the district wherein Pungrain, Punsup, Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, Markfed and Food Corporation of India have entered procurement operations.

The procurement agencies have made a payment of Rs 68.34 crore so far. The DC said there was no issue with the procurement of hybrid varieties as all the varieties were being purchased.

20,173 MT of paddy arrives in Rupnagar grain markets

A total of 20,173 MT of paddy has arrived in grain markets of Rupnagar district, of which 18,108 MT has been purchased by various procurement agencies.
