Mullanpur SHO Satinder Singh said: “CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor the movement of vehicles, and keep tabs on traffic violations and crime incidents. It will help us serve public in an effective way.”

The area is sensitive as illegal mining is rampant there and the road leads to the UT and Himachal Pradesh border. The Siswan T-point also connects the Kharar-Kurali side.

Police officials say while most of the cameras have been installed, only some points on the Togan road remain and these too will be covered. Over the years, incidents of crime have been on the rise in the area with rise in population.
