Chandigarh, July 29

A 38-year-old man from Nayagaon has been arrested for allegedly trying to smoke a cigarette inside a gurdwara on the PU campus. The incident took place around 7.45 pm on July 28. Complainant Kashmir Singh stated that Vinod Kumar entered the gurdwara and tried to smoke, leading to intervention by students who moved him out.

It is alleged that the suspect reportedly engaged in an altercation later and insisted on smoking there. The PU security staff and police were subsequently informed about the incident following which they reached the spot and apprehended the suspect. A case was registered.
