4 COVID-19 deaths in Chandigarh; infection tally at 10,968

Chandigarh reported four deaths and 253 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, taking the death total to 144.

The administration has added three deaths—that were previously reported as deaths—due to other reasons to COVID-19 death total. 

The city’s coronavirus tally stands at 10,968.

A 42-year-old woman from Kishangarh died at GMCH-32. She was diabetic. A 72-year-old man from Sector 32 succumbed to the virus at Mukat Hospital. He was also suffering from diabetes.

A 76-year-old man from Sector 25, who was suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome, breathed his last at GMSH-16.

A 41-year-old man from Burail, a case of pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome and a kidney disease complication, also died at GMCH-32.

In the last 24 hours, the city has recorded 293 recoveries.  

While 8,342 have recovered from the virus so far, 2,482 cases remain active.
