46 poll officials get show-cause notice

The district election office has issued show-cause notices to 46 presiding, assistant presiding and polling officers who failed to participate in the second rehearsal for conducting elections in the Kalka Assembly constituency.

Officials said the election office had decided to initiate strict action against them under the Departmental and Public Representatives Act, 1951, in case they failed to respond to the notices.

SDM and Kalka Returning Officer Rajesh Punia said the training of these officials was held at Indradhanush Auditorium on September 24. He said 46 employees were absent during it and were issued show-cause-notices.
