The city today reported five deaths due to Covid, raising the toll to 106. Also, 288 fresh cases surfaced, taking the tally to 9,246.

An 81-year-old man from Sector 55, a case of diabetes, hypertension and coronary artery disease, died at the GMCH-32. A 57-year-old man from Sector 30, a case of type 2 diabetes mellitus, succumbed to Covid at the GMCH-32. A 61-year-old man from Mani Majra breathed his last at Fortis Hospital, Mohali.

An 18-year-old girl from Sector 42, who was brought dead at the GMSH-16, tested positive for Covid. A 48-year-old woman of Sector 28, a case of sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome, died at the GMSH-16.

A total of 379 patients reportedly recovered from Covid today. — TNS
