Chandigarh on Thursday reported five new deaths taking the death toll due to COVID-19 to 106 while 288 fresh cases took the total tally to 9,256.

There are now 3,085 active cases in the city. Of the 288 new cases, 180 are men and 108 are women.

An 81-year-old male resident of Sector 55, a case of diabetes, hypertension and CAD, died at GMCH-32.

A 57-year-old male resident of Sector 30, a case of Type 2 diabetes mellitus, died at GMCH-32.

A 61-year-old male resident of Manimajra died at Fortis Hospital, Mohali.

An 18-year-old female resident of Sector 42, who was brought to hospital after death tested positive.  

A 48-year-old female resident of Sector 28, a case of Sepsis and ARDS, died at GMSH-16.

A total of 379 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare guidelines.

As many as 6,062 people have been cured till date.
