A five-year-old boy died while his father sustained injuries after a car hit their motorcycle in Sector 24 here today.

The victim was identified as Arnav (5), a Sector 24 resident. He and his father Pankaj were going to a nearby chemist shop when the accident took place.

The police said both victims were rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16 where Arnav was declared brought dead. On a complaint of the victim’s father, a case was registered at the Sector 11 police station. The car driver fled after the incident, leaving the vehicle behind. Both the vehicles have been impounded by the police.

Hit-&-run victim succumbs

A man injured in a hit-and-run on September 13 succumbed to his injuries. The victim, a Dhanas resident, was hit by an unidentified vehicle near the Aroma light point. The victim had sustained injuries and was admitted to the PGI where he passed away on September 18. A case has been registered at the Sector 17 police station.
