Rs 50L devp funds for 22 villages

City Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla has announced the transfer of Rs 50 lakh for each of the 22 villages to the MC under the dedicated Village Development Fund.

Calling the councillors of the respective wards form the 22 villages, she urged them to raise and prioritise the development demands specific to their villages. “The dedicated funds are available with the MC and we are committed to ensuring meaningful improvements in civic infrastructure,” she said. The Mayor emphasized that the focus areas for development include the upgrading of roads, installation of streetlights, improvement of sewerage and storm water drainage systems.
