The construction of a four-laned 135-m steel bridge on Sirhind Canal with approaches has finally been completed in Ropar city. Rigorous load testing is going on for the past few days as the bridge awaits inauguration.

Rupnagar Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain said, “The Rs 52.77 crore bridge will be dedicated to public soon.” He said, “The bridge will reduce congestion and ease the traffic movement for people travelling from Chandigarh to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. It also connects nearby villages with NH-344A.”
