Ahead of the 75th Republic Day, a full dress rehearsal was held at Shaheed Major (Shaurya Chakra) Harminder Pal Singh Government College Stadium here with the administration giving final touches to the preparations.

DC Aashika Jain, along with SSP Dr Sandeep Garg, inspected the parade and the march past. Three police platoons, including one of women police, platoons of NCC cadets and bands of various schools participated in the march past led by DSP Harsimrat Singh Chhetra as Parade Commander.

The DC also distributed body warmers to all 575 students performing during the celebrations to combat cold weather. Despite severe cold weather, students performed group songs and other activities based on patriotic themes.

The DC issued necessary directions to various departments to make the celebrations a great success.
