Dera Bassi, June 10

Four armed youths, astride two motorcycles, fired gunshots and snatched a bag with Rs 1 crore from a businessman near Barwala Chowk in Dera Bassi on Friday afternoon. Cops said the victim, Harjit Nagpal, a resident of Sadhunagar, had invited some people through an acquaintance to settle a property deal at his office. The persons visiting the office turned out to be robbers.

After the incident, the miscreants snatched a bike of a localite, Govinda, at gunpoint and fled in different directions. 

A passerby, Mohammed Saabir, 37, a local shopkeeper, received gunshot injuries and was rushed to the GMCH-32 in a serious condition.

Police have so far nabbed three persons from VIP Road in Zirakpur in the incident.
