The police at the Ramgarh post arrested six individuals — Rais Khan, Amir Khan, residents of Madoli village in Yamunanagar, Wasim Rana, Kasim Ali of Pipli in Kurukshetra, and Danis, residents of Kishanpur in Yamunanagar — for kidnapping and sent them to judicial custody at Ambala.

Sub-Inspector Ajay Kumar said the police party was present near Billa village on Thursday when they received information that some people had abducted another person in a car. He added that on reaching the site, a relative of the victim informed them that the victim got married in December 2023, but the girl’s family was against it.

The sub-inspector said that the family was contesting a court case in the matter at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, adding that the victim, his wife, and their nephew were on the way home when his nephew was abducted by the girl’s family at around 5 pm near Billa village.
