6 injured after visitors’ cart overturns at Chhatbir Zoo in Punjab’s Mohali
Six passengers were injured after a visitors’ cart carrying three families overturned at Chhatbir Zoo in Punjab’s Mohali on Sunday.
According to officials, the driver of the vehicle swerved to avoid hitting children playing on the road.
However, visitors said the driver was talking on the mobile phone while driving and failed to notice the kids.
By the time he realised, the cart overturned and rolled into a shallow ditch in the nearby forest area.
Alerted by the commotion, passersby rushed to rescue the passengers, who sustained minor injuries.
Zoo officials confirmed that all the injured received first aid immediately.
“An inquiry will be conducted, and necessary action will be taken,” an official said.
