Chandigarh on Monday reported six new cases of Covid-19 taking the total number of infections to 65,243.

A positivity rate of 0.47 per cent was recorded today as 1,288 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

The number of active cases in the city is 38.

Two patients were discharged, including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per Ministry of Health guidelines.

The death toll in the city remains 819.

As many as 64,386 people have been cured till date.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
