The district today reported its 10th Covid death. A 61-year-old man from Verma Colony near Nanakpur succumbed to the virus. He was suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome. His samples were taken at the CHC, Kalka, and his report came positive yesterday following which he was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6, where he breathed his last.

Besides, 66 persons, including two officials at the Haryana CM’s residence, tested positive for the virus today, taking the district tally to 1,536. The new cases include 11 from Sector 4, 10 from Pinjore, eight from Old Panchkula, four from Sector 21, three each from Mansa Devi Complex and Rajiv Colony, two each from Kot, Surajpur, Barwala and Sector 11, 12, 12-A, 15 and 23, one each from Kalka, Nanakpur, Sector 2, 9, 10, 16, 18 and 26, and the Industrial Area.

Meanwhile, 21 more patients have recovered from the disease. — TNS
