62-year-old dairy farmer dies as cattle shed roof collapses at Lalru

Jasveer Singh was trapped under the debris and extricated by villagers, but he died before being taken to a hospital near Ambala.
It is the second death in Lalru due to heavy rain since August 29 when a 65-year-old farmer Janak Raj died while crossing the Jharmal rivulet.
The body was shifted to the mortuary of the Dera Bassi hospital. Four buffaloes died and 12 cattle heads were injured in the accident.
Health Minister Balbir Singh and Dera Bassi MLA Kuljit Randhawa visited the family and expressed condolences. They assured the family of financial help.
Many villages of Dera Bassi and Lalru are facing flood threats as the Ghaggar continues to flow near the danger mark for the past many days.
