Dera Bassi, January 18

The Punjab Government was committed to provide 24-hour power supply to the people of the state, said Patiala MP Preneet Kaur after inaugurating 66-kV sub-station at Haripur Kuran village here.

Preneet said the new grid had been so designed that the capacity could be extended to meet the future demand of the area.

She said the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) had spent about Rs 5 crore on the construction of the new sub-station.

Preneet said with the commissioning of this sub-station, villages of Dera Bassi such as Jawaharpur, Haripur Kuran, Dandrala, Mukandpur, Mahiwala would get benefits of uninterrupted power supply.

Elaborating on the development works in Dera Bassi, she said her primary focus was to improve basic facilities in government schools.
