The accused reportedly confessed during questioning. The infant’s body was recovered and sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family. The accused was produced in court and remanded to six days’ police custody.

According to the FIR lodged by the infant’s mother, Payal, discovered her son missing from their rented room in Shiv Colony around 1.30 am on Saturday. The family immediately launched a search and later reported the matter to police, who registered a case under Section 140(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Pinjore Police Station.

Officials are checking his criminal background and investigating the possible involvement of others. The child’s father, a native of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh, was away at the time of the incident. Further investigation is underway.
