The Panchkula police have issued 83 challans to people found violating lane change rules. The action has been initiated as per the state police’s directives to act against over-speeding and lane driving rules on highways.

Police officials said they issued the challans on Monday for heavy vehicle drivers who violated the rules.

Inspector (Traffic) Satbir Singh said that drivers are being informed about following traffic rules. “But despite this, drivers drive in different lanes in the same speed. Due to this, other vehicles are faced with a lot of problems, which can result in major accidents as well.” — TNS
