A 91-year-old man suffering from severe Covid bilateral pneumonia with lung fibrosis and multiple comorbidities has beaten Covid-19 successfully and was discharged after 20 days at the hospital.

Dr Suresh Goyal, senior consultant of pulmonary and sleep medicine at Ivy Hospital, said the elderly patient from Ropar was admitted with complaints of breathlessness, fever, cough and body aches.

He had prostate cancer for the past five years, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) for 20 years and high blood pressure. The Covid antigen test was conducted and the report was found positive after which he was kept in an isolation ward. Later, he was shifted to RICU, where he was given high-flow oxygen and antiviral, besides supportive treatments.
