The department’s executive engineer (XEN) said the project covers 69 villages of Khera block and 23 of Bassi Pathana.

A total of 131 km transmission pipeline has been laid in the district’s villages, through which clean drinking water will be provided to the residents.

Under the project, a water treatment plant (12 MLD) has been set up at Nanowal and by taking water from Rajpura distributary of the Bhakra canal (main line), the water will be disinfected through filtration and chlorination and pumped tp the tanks of the respective water houses across the 92 villages.
