The Old Yadavindrians Association (OYA) will organise the 9th OYA Autocross, Motocross & Off Road Challenge at the PUDA Ground, Phase VIII, Mohali, from February 8-9.

The event will be held in four wheelers, two wheelers and 4×4 vehicle categories, the organisers said here today. This year’s edition will witness all autocross, motocross and off road events conducted at the same time in different areas, the organisers added.

The event is expected to witness participation from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

“This event is being organised since 2009. The event is more about testing your driving skills on different terrains and learning technical aspects in the form of sport,” said OYA president Kushal Pal Singh Mann.

“It’s appreciable to have twin dirt tracks with hurdles like crossover, undulating, underpass and bridge. With the availability of more space this year, two vehicles can race at the same time. The laser live timing system is another eye-catcher. The fans can check the results on the Internet with the addition of this feature. There will also be an open category race for women and specially-abled players. Overall, it will be a great platform to perform,” said Deepam Prajapati, one of the contestants. — TNS
