Punjab’s Abhinav Chaudhari won a see-saw battle against Chandigarh’s Tanmay Singla before storming into the boys’ U-16 final of the ongoing Roots AITA Challenge Series (7) National Ranking Tennis Championship.

Chaudhari won the first set 6-2, but went down in the next with a 3-6 verdict. In the final set, Chaudhari overpowered his opponent after a neck-and-neck fight with a 7-5 result in his favour. In the second semifinal, Shaurya Sharma of Uttar Pradesh defeated Priyadarshan Raj of West Bengal 6-4 6-1.

In the boys’ U-18 semifinals, Avi Aggarwal of Uttar Pradesh defeated Punjab’s Amrat Chaudhary 6-4 6-4 and third seed Haryana’s Advit Tiwari overpowered Harman Singh 7-6(5) 7-6(2).
