The court said keeping in view of the nature and gravity of offences along with peculiar facts and circumstances, the accused was not entitled to the bail.

The police arrested the accused two days after the British diplomat lodged a complaint. She alleged that around 5.44 am on October 6, while she was going to the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) complex in Sector 10 C, a person, riding a motorcycle, came from behind and hit her hard with his hand on her back with the intention of molesting her.

The counsel of the accused argued that the accused was falsely implicated in the present case. He also claimed that the accused was suffering from a brain problem and is under treatment at GMSH-16. The Public Prosecutor said if the accused was released on bail, then he might hamper the investigation and influence the prosecution witnesses.— TNS
