The accused, Rohit Puri, was arrested after the police registered the case on December 9, 2020, in the alleged robbery incident.

Owner of a shop, ‘Shree Gold Testing’, in Sector 23, had alleged that a person named Rohit, along with three friends, came to his shop on December 9, 2020, and said they wanted to sell their metal. One of the Rohit’s friends pointed a pistol at him and others in the shop. Another boy handed over a bag to them, directing them to put all gold jewellery articles in the bag. When they objected, the youth with the pistol shot at him and tried to loot the jewellery. He said the bullet had hit his brother.

The counsel for the applicant argued that the accused was falsely implicated in the case. JP Singh, public prosecutor, opposed the bail. After hearing the arguments, the court rejected the bail application of the accused. — TNS
