The Public Works Department (PWD) department today initiated the repair work at the main Sirhind-Chandigarh road.

A day after a news item was published in Chandigarh Tribune regarding the poor condition of roads and civic amenities in Sirhind-Fatehgarh Sahib town, the authorities have begun filling potholes.

Notably, 26-year-old social media influencer Yogesh Kumar, a resident of Sirhind had died as his bike fell into a pothole on the main road opposite Mahesh Hospital.

The rain since has further aggravated the problem. The representatives of civic society groups and senior citizens led by RN Sharma had also urged the DC and MLA to initiate repair work at the earliest.
