Chandigarh, February 29

Age is just a number to start up. This was proved by entrepreneurs separated by two eras — Harbhajan Kaur, 94, who sells organic ‘besan ki barfi’ and Umer Qureshi, 15, who earns six digits from professional blogging.

Qureshi, who missed his Class X Hindi exam to attending the TiECon event, said he did not bother about missing the exam rather he would appear for a compartment exam. Qureshi, founder of GuideBlogging, said, “I had always focused on learning new things available on the internet. I keep learning from YouTube.”

“School learning isn’t enough. I make sure that I keep myself updated by meeting local groups and enhance my online knowledge of affiliate marketing and search engine operation,” he said.

However, nonagenarian Harbhajan Kaur began her entrepreneurial journey with her start-up ‘Harbhajan’s – Bachpan yaad aa jaaye’ that sells home-made ‘besan ki barfi’ and pickles.

During the initial years, Kaur’s sweetmeats were sold at a weekly organic market in Sector 18, Chandigarh, but today she sells from home. She has also hired two employees to cater to the growing demand of sweets.
