All suspects arrested in Mastgarh village clash

The Mullanpur police have arrested all four suspects involved in the firing case in which two persons sustained serious injuries here.

The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Pamma, a resident of Mastgarh, Shoki, a resident of Jayanti Majri, Naresh Kumar, resident of village Kasauli in Mohali and a juvenile from Ropar.

The police also claimed to have recovered double barrel .12 bore gun, three live cartridges, two used cartridges and a Hyundai i20 car, which was used in the crime. Gurpreet Singh was arrested a day after the incident, which had occurred on Sunday at village Mastgarh in Mullanpur area where a brawl between two cousins, Gurpreet and Jaswinder had taken place following uprooting of a tree from the disputed land. Gurpreet had attacked his cousin, Jaswinder with a sharp-edged weapon.

Later, Gurpreet had fired two shots from his .12 bore gun in the air which hit the two persons standing near the spot of crime. The victims, Ajit Singh and Sheetal Singh were admitted in a hospital and both of them are stable now. The three accused in local court, which sent two of them to three days remand under the police custody while the juvenile has been sent to juvenile home in Hoshiarpur. — TNS
