National president of the All-India Mahila Congress Alka Lamba said today that talks were on as to whether the Congress or AAP candidate would be fielded from the Chandigarh LS seat.

During a press conference at the Congress Bhawan here, when she was asked whether the Congress or AAP candidate will be fielded from the Chandigarh parliamentary seat, she said, “Sitting here, I and the Congress state president cannot decide. Pawan Bansal is a senior leader. Alliance talks are going on and after screening, a candidate will be decided.”

She said the issues of Punjab, Chandigarh and Delhi should be kept separate. “The alliance will contest the elections strongly. But, who will get how many seats and where, it will be decided in the coming days. The alliance candidates will provide strength and support to each other in the elections. She expressed confidence that the number of women candidates will also increase in the elections,” she replied.
