The visitors made an impressive start by taking an early 2-1 lead in the first chakkar. However, Col Sandhu turned the tide in the second chakkar with a remarkable performance by scoring three consecutive goals and putting his team ahead at 4-2.

The match was evenly contested through the third chakkar with Chandigarh narrowing the gap to 3-4. However, two decisive goals by Col Sandhu in the final chakkar secured the lead. The final goal by Dilpreet was not good enough as the scoreline 6-4 went in favour of the hosts.
