Chandigarh: The six-week mobile app development and digital marketing course, which started on January 16, at GGDSD College, Kheri Gurna, in collaboration with iTinker was successfully completed on Friday. Ashish Jain of iTinker said the objective of the programme was to enhance entrepreneurial and employability skills of college students. The first batch of 18 students was divided into three groups of six students each. Each group developed an app, which would be available on the Playstore. Maj Gen (retd) AK Shori, chairman, appreciated the unique and progressive initiative taken by the college, which was a step forward towards the vision shared by the college management to make the institution unique and different. The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
