Chief of the Army Staff, Gen Upendra Dwivedi visited Western Command Headquarters in Chandimandir Military Station today and took stock of the security situation in the western sector.

This is his first visit to this command after taking over the reins of the Army on June 20.

The Army Chief was briefed about the operational and administrative aspects by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen Manoj Katiyar.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind.
