Top seed Arnav Pathange of India eased into the final round of the boys’ qualifiers with a 6-4 6-2 win over Amaan Adil Tezabwala on the opening day of the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors (Grade-III) at the CLTA Complex, Sector 10, here today.

Second seed Sushant Dabas humbled Raghav Harsh 6-2 6-2, while third seed Nikita Sidorov hammered Rishi Jalota 6-1 6-2 in the second round of the qualifiers. Fourth seed Karan Singh survived a tough battle against Rudra Himendu Bhatt. He won 7-6(0) 5-7 (10-7).

Sixth seed Heerak Vohra rallied from a set down to beat Kartik Saxena 2-6 7-5 (10-6). Seventh seed Aman Dahiya registered a 6-4 6-0 win over Aditya Balda, while Yuvan Nandal stunned Bhupender Dahiya 6-0 7-5.

Anjali rallies ahead

In the girls competition, Anjali Rathi came from behind to beat Sanvi Ahluwalia 5-7 6-2 (10-5) in the opening round of the qualifiers.

Vanya Arora drubbed Lehar Singh Tomar 6-0 6-1, while Akanksha Dileep Nitture packed off Sana Bhat 6-1 6-1. Hitkamya Singh Narwal dismissed Amarjot Kaur Bundhel of the United States of America to move into the next round. Hitkamya won 6-1 6-0.

Kavya Khriwar had an easy outing against Kashish Kant. She won 6-0 6-2. Rhea Vashishtha of the USA defeated Indian contender Anuradha Chopra 6-2 6-3, while Hannah Nagpal thrashed Vishita Jhorar 6-1 6-1.

Harleen Kaur Dhanda prevailed 7-5 7-5 against Sukhmani Bhandari and Kiran Rani Gnanavelu downed Nandini Dixit 6-3 7-5. Varda Anand was trailing 1-7 against seventh seed Ananya Machandra, when the latter conceded the match following an injury.
