The Secretary, Local Government-cum-Home Secretary, Nitin Kumar Yadav, today reviewed the arrangements and preparedness for the coming Municipal Corporation (MC) elections.

The Secretary reviewed the status of the electoral roll, deployment of police force to maintain law and order and the availability of resources for a smooth election process. The Secretary directed to depute addition force at sensitive booths to avoid any chaos during the elections.

Besides, the enforcement of the Covid guidelines in election booths/stations was also highlighted. The Home Secretary directed all deputed staff to ensure Covid-appropriate behaviour at the election booths. He added that special arrangements would be made for Covid positive voters, who intended to cast their vote. One health team, headed by a medical officer, would also be deputed with returning officers. Apart from Vijay Namdeorao Zade, Finance Secretary, and Sandeep Mishra, Secretary, State Election Commission, the meeting was attended by election observers, returning officers, expenditure observers and SSP Kuldip Singh Chahal.
