Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Sandhwan will hoist the flag in Mohali during the Republic Day celebrations.

Deputy Speaker Jai Kishan Rori will attend the function in Rupnagar.

The Mohali district administration has begun the Republic Day preparations, with tasks bring assigned to the departments to prepare the venue, Shaheed Major Harminderpal Singh Government College, Phase 6.

Close to 1,500 students and participants will be part of the Republic Day function this year.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
