A 7-year-old girl died after being crushed under an auto-rickshaw in Sector 69. The deceased, identified as Aradhya, the daughter of Maninderjit Singh, was seriously injured in the accident and rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared her dead.

The victim's grandfather, Baldev Singh, said he and his grandchildren Arnav, 9, and Aradhya, 7, had just stepped outside their house for a stroll when a speeding auto-rickshaw hit her granddaughter.

The police booked the under sections 281 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Phase-8 police station.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
