The police have arrested an auto driver for robbing a passenger of his mobile phone and Rs 1,200 at knifepoint on Monday night.

The suspect was identified as Ajay Dharcha. The complainant, Lal Bahadur, a resident of United Society, Sector 68, stated that Ajay took the auto to a secluded place and robbed him at knifepoint before fleeing from the spot.

DSP City-2 Harsimran Singh Bal said the suspect had been arrested and the knife recovered.
