Ayaan Garg scored five points to win the 35th Chandigarh State Chess Championship that concluded at Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, Sector 27, here.

Vedant Garg, Shashank Seshan and Kamya Kumari followed the leader with five points each at second, third and fourth position, respectively. The top four players will represent Chandigarh in the national event to be held in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, from September 20 to October 1.

Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi, Abhinav Bansal, Sidharth Bhargav, Swastik Singhal, Vivaan Mittal and Prabhav Atwal all scored four points each, while Atharv Singh Negi, Dishant Bansal, Ayush Mani, Amittej Kalia and Amogh Agrawal ended their campaign with 3.5 points each.

The group of Samaira Taneja, Pratyush Singh, Taroosh Singal, Jayant Atwal, Akshun Punchhi, Swadhrit Seth and Tejas Rai Aggarwal posted three points each.
