The police have found a new-born baby girl abandoned near a sewage drain on the Airport Road in Sector 67.

The baby, with yellow t-shirt, was found in a wooden casket near a garbage dump in the drain, said the police.

On Sunday afternoon, a few youth heard the cries of the baby and informed the police, they said, adding that the Phase-11 police had booked an unidentified mother for abandoning the baby girl.

The girl, approximately 10-15 days old, has been kept at the hospital where she has been screened for various ailments, the police added. — TNS
