The UT Administration organised various events to mark the beginning of nationwide celebrations of the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”.

A cycle rally was organised here today. UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore graced the occasion as the chief guest at the War Memorial, Sector 3, along with Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Mandip Singh Brar and other senior officials of the Administration. The Administrator also participated in the cycle rally along with officials to motivate students participating in the event. The cycle rally culminated at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18.

Badnore also inaugurated a photo exhibition at Tagore Theatre showcasing India @75 represented by Devpreet Singh, ADG, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. He also lauded the efforts of the organisers on the commencement of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to mark 75 years of India’s Independence.

A cultural programme was also organised by the UT Department of Cultural Affairs presenting the celebration of the indomitable spirit of the country.

Other events such as essay writing and painting competition were also held at GMSSS-21 and GMSSS-18 on the lines of Independence @75.

Online seminar by NITTTR

National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh, inaugurated ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ on Friday.

Deans, heads of various departments, faculty, staff and students attended an online seminar organised as part of the event.

The programme began with an address from Prof SS Pattnaik, Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh. He put forth his opinions about Azadi (freedom), which has been a result of many known and unknown struggles.
