Chandigarh, January 8

Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore today took a bicycle ride to promote cycling as an environment-friendly mode of transportation.

The Administrator took this initiative to encourage residents of the City Beautiful to adopt cycling and help the Administration in reducing environmental pollution. Riding bicycle is a safer and greener alternative that will reduce traffic congestion in the city.

A UT official said the move would usher in an era where green transportation like cycles would be widely used. With the expanse of cycle tracks in the city, bicyclists could easily divert themselves from other vehicular traffic.
