Rana, who is suspected to be involved in a firing incident outside the residence of hotelier Tara Singh Saini in Sector 38 on November 5, sustained an injury in his leg. He was admitted to the Kharar sub-divisional hospital.
Mohali SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans said, “Two wanted men Arshjot of Ballonajra and Jashan were arrested by police recently. Their questioning led police to Rana. The trio have multiple cases of Arms Act and rioting registered against them. Rana, a resident of Kharar, was about to commit a crime incident in the area but was arrested in a trap today morning. One pistol was recovered from the duo yesterday. Another pistol has been recovered from Rana today.”
Cops said Arshjot was involved in a firing at singer Bunty Bains a few months ago.
On November 5 night, four shots were fired outside Saini’s house. However, no one was injured in the incident. Saini is the owner of the Regenta Place hotel at TDI City, Sector 119, Mohali.
Bullets had struck a jeep belonging to Saini’s tenant, as well as the wall and gates of his house. CCTV footage revealed two motorcycle-borne men firing shots around 12.30 am before fleeing.
In his complaint to the Mohali police, Saini had stated that he earlier received a call from an unknown number, with the caller identifying himself as Lucky Patial.
