Punjab DIG Bhullar’s ‘aide’ Kirshanu had access to politicians, cops, singers

Kirshanu Sharda, who was arrested along with Punjab DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar in a bribery case, has represented the Chandigarh hockey team in senior nationals many times.

However, the 30-year-old’s claim to fame is working unofficially in the teams of politicians, police officials and singers. His social media posts are mostly about a flamboyant Congress leader from Patiala. Described as an “aide/middleman of IPS officer HS Bhullar” in the CBI FIR, Kirshanu was a frequent visitor to the Punjab Police Headquarters in Chandigarh.

“Many police officers know him and keep in touch with him,” sources said. He was recently seen in a musical programme of a Hoshiarpur-born singer, songwriter, actor and poet in Chandigarh. His pictures with politicians and singers point to the fact that he had access to many influential personalities of Punjab.

The CBI arrested Kirshanu from Sector 21, Chandigarh, reportedly while accepting a bribe if Rs 8 lakh purportedly on behalf of Bhullar. Both were arrested by the CBI yesterday in a Prevention of Corruption Act case.
