The city today reported 64 fresh cases of Covid. The biggest single-day spike so far took the UT tally to 1,270. Around 42 per cent of the total cases are active.

The new cases include 21 persons whose rapid antigen test reports came positive. The city’s positivity rate is 8.1 per cent.

The fresh cases have surfaced in Sector 52, 40, 24, 42, 43, 47, 41, 46, 34, 39, 28, 45 and 30, GMCH-32, Dhanas, Burail, Hallo Majra, Khuda Lahora, PGI, Raipur Khurd, Kajheri, Bapu Dham Colony and Dadu Majra. Among the new contacts four are employees of the PGI and a Haryana Civil Secretariat staffer.

As many as 16 persons contracted the infection from their family members and nine from their workplace.

A total of 715 patients have recovered from the diseases so far while 20 succumbed to it in the city. — TNS
