Fire broke out at two places in the city. While one fire was reported at the record room of District Administrative Complex, another incident took place at an empty plot near Leela Bhawan.

The fire broke out in the record room on the fourth floor of the DC Office building located in the Mini Secretariat. The smoke caused panic in the area, with office workers rushing to the ground floor. Firefighters who arrived at the scene managed to control the blaze within 90 minutes.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Rajinder Kaushal, an official from the fire department, stated that they received information about the fire around 12 noon. He added that they used the fire system to control the flames, fortunately preventing the fire from spreading further and burning all the records.

Later, the fire department doused the fire at a vacant plot where the garbage and waste material suspected to have been set ablaze by a miscreant.
