A local court has dismissed the bail application of Ishan Shanker Roy, who was arrested in a hit-and-run accident causing the death of UT police constable Anand Dev.

The driver allegedly fled the scene in his BMW car after hitting the constable who was riding a bicycle in Sector on May 12.

According to the police, the cop was riding his bicycle to his workplace in the evening when the speeding BMW car hit him at the Sector 9-10 traffic lights near the Police Headquarters in Sector 9 here.

The police arrested the accused, Ishan Shanker Roya, day after the accident.
