Banker alleges property fraud
Chandigarh: Deepak Kumar Sayogi, Branch Manager at Punjab & Sind Bank, Sector 34-A, reported that a Ludhiana woman, Varun Jindal and his wife defrauded him of nearly Rs 1 crore in connection with a property matter. Fraud: Sector 8 man booked
Chandigarh: Dhanas resident Gurpreet Singh reported that Baljinder Singh of Sector 28 defrauded him of nearly Rs 1.25 crore regarding a property matter. A case under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the EOW police station in Sector 17. TNS

Javelin throw meet on Aug 7
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Athletics Association will organise the 3rd Chandigarh State Javelin Throw Athletics Championship at the Sector 7 Sports Complex here on August 7. Athletes residing, studying or working in Chandigarh will be eligible to participate in the competition to celebrate the gold medal won by Neeraj Chopra in Tokyo Olympics. Mannat wins bowling c'ship
