Chandigarh, May 19

Two more suspects, including one of the kingpins of the international drug racket, have been arrested by the UT police from Chennai. N Jaffer Shariff (28) , who is said to be one of the kingpins of the drug racket, and Vijay Kumar (41) were arrested from Chennai on May 17 and brought to Chandigarh on transit remand of three days up to May 20.

The police said Jaffer was one of the kingpins involved in the racket of smuggling cocaine to foreign countries through courier companies.

The police said the suspects revealed that in April, they had sent drugs concealed in healthcare equipment to Australia through the Fedex courier company in six cartons weighing around 150 kg.

The police said the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had been informed about the courier sent in April to Australia, which was still in transit, so that it could be located.
