To commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Janbaaz motorcycle display team of the Border Security Force (BSF) held a performance at Chandigarh University here today.

UT DGP Praveer Ranjan was the chief guest on the occasion. PV Rama Sastry, Additional Director General, Western Command, BSF, the Chancellor of Chandigarh University, officials from the Punjab Government and the Chandigarh Administration, faculty members, NCC cadets, students and local residents witnessed the show.

Various manoeuvers such as neck riding, fish riding, janbaaz jump, pyramid riding, etc, were performed by the team. Ranjan lauded the riders for their self-determination, mental alertness and precision handling of their machines.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
